Aberdeen Atoms strongly believe that an umpire can make or break a match just as much as players can. A good umpire can make all the difference, as well as a bad one!

To this end Aberdeen Atoms are strongly committed to umpire education and mentoring. All our umpires are encouraged to have confidence in their own abilities, and to constantly push themselves and strive to be better. Most importantly we want our umpires to enjoy umpiring, and feel supported by the club at all times. It is up to each individual umpire as to how far they want to take their umpiring, but we do encourage them to practice as much as possible, and to have regular umpiring discussions, especially if something comes up that they are unsure about!

Our current active umpires are:

Claire Buckley (B grade), Elizabeth Graham (C grade), Helen Lund (B grade), Claire Reid (C grade), Nicola Stephen (C grade), Ashleigh Tait (C grade).

Claire Buckley is also a qualified netball bench official, statistician, Netball Scotland umpire tutor and Netball Scotland umpire assessor. Any questions on the technical aspects of netball, please feel free to give her a shout!
