Cowie Reds Vs Aberdeen Atoms

Aberdeen Atoms lined up to start their season off against last year's rivals, Cowie Reds. Cowie Reds had had a noticeable shake up over the summer holidays, as had the Atoms' line up.
Atoms went into the game with a positive attitude, and lots to think about after recent training sessions. It took a while for Atoms to settle down, but they eventually hit their stride and started putting their summer prep work into action.
Cowie made sure that Atoms worked for every ball, but lovely defending from Wilkie, Stephen and Lewis saw the ball returning back up the court to feed the shooters for conversion into goals on several occasions. The centre court was balanced well by combinations of Malley, Strachan and Geddes, and the initial duo of Buckley and Edgar worked the shooting circle to their advantage. Malley debuted in the GA position for Atoms in this game, and more than proved she could hold her own in the shooting circle.
It's onwards and hopefully upwards for Atoms this season, as they secured their first win in their opening match. The win provided a team boost, but also gave the coaches plenty to think about to drive the team on this season.
